More hesitant than I should be

Wonton wrappers were always something I glanced as I passed by the salad department in the gorcery store (that's where they're kept where I live). Baby spinach? check. Salad Blend? check. Wonton wrappers? uhh not so much. For some reason they were always a foreign thing to me. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely enjoy trying new foods, however exotic, but cooking with and eating are two different realms. Yet, recently, I have really been yearning for food that can be made with wonton wrappers. And although I bake so much more than I cook, lately, I have been cooking more often.
Pot stickers and those delicious looking dessert ravioli that Giada made on Food Network have been at the back of my mind for some time now, and wonton wrappers would lead me on the path to having those foods in my hands at a moment. But even then, I can't push myself to get those darned wrappers; I'd make up some excuse to NOT get them every time. Oh well for that then. Here's a link for something I would make if I had them [except with more spices and only chicken]:

I'll keep you posted should I ever get them!

FIRST!

First post! I'm so excited! This blog is a creation of fancy and free time, although I hope it becomes more than that as time progresses. I love food and anything involved with it: cooking, baking, eating, tasting, & even learning the science of it. However, I do not always have the opportunity to try all the recipes that I see, so I will keep a compilation of links on this blog as well reviews of recipes that I have tried. Also, I would just like to lay down that I am under an anonymous name and will try to keep as private as possible.
About the name. I was trying [so hard!] to think of a name... something french? nahh, couldn't think of anything classy enough. Something cute? nahh, couldn't balance cute and classy.. Something completely random? uh, NO.
I settled for something interesting enough to hopefully grab somebody's attention. Today for the first time I tasted the combination of fruit and salty cheese. I know it's not a new duo, but it is one that I do not hear of too often. The soft cheese melted in my mouth [feta = love] and the juicy melon added just enough sweetness. Contrary to my expectations, the watermelon overpowered the feta instead of the other way around.
